We are pleased to welcome you to the 19th annual GNS Science Quaternary Techniques Shortcourse, which will be held Wed 9 – Fri 11 August 2023 at the National Isotope Centre in Lower Hutt.
The QT shortcourse aims to introduce earth science students from New Zealand universities to a variety of tools and techniques available to use in geology, how they can be applied to reconstruct environment and climate, and determine environmental change.
The course is delivered by researchers from GNS Science, University of Waikato, Massey University, Victoria University Wellington, Lincoln University, and University of Otago. Content is appropriate for those working towards their undergraduate degree, or in early stages of post graduate research. The course is a mixture of lectures and laboratory tours, with plenty of opportunity to meet researchers and other earth science students from across New Zealand.

This course is limited to 30 participants.
Minimum participant number to run this course is 20. -
Programme
Course hours are:
- Wednesday 9 August, 11:00-17:00
- Thursday 10 August, 09:00-17:00
- Friday 11 August, 0900-15:00
Lunch and breaks catering Wednesday – Friday, and a workshop dinner on Thursday evening included in registration fee.
