GNS science Hydrogeology Annual Report released
The GNS Science Hydrogeology Annual Report 2022 was sent out to stakeholders this week, showcasing the breadth of research into groundwater.
Groundwater is essential for environmental integrity, social wellbeing, and economic productivity, but we still don’t know enough about our groundwater resources in Aotearoa. GNS Science’s groundwater-related research is attempting to change that.
Summarising that work, The GNS Science Hydrogeology Annual Report 2022 (PDF, 1.2 MB) is an annual publication summarising our impact in the groundwater space. In the report, you will find a summary Science’s groundwater-related research outputs for the year. In the first half of the report, you will see summaries of the ongoing research programmes, so you can learn about programmes like Whakaheke o Te Wai.
The second half is what the team has achieved this year. Did you see the helicopter flying over Cape Reinga last week and wonder what Airborne Electromagnetic surveying is, you can learn about similar work in Hawkes Bay which is further along the science pathway in terms of analysis of that raw data. Or have you wondered what we are doing around the potential impacts of climate change on groundwater? That’s in there too.
Read it (PDF, 1.2 MB), reach out to the team, or even send it to people you think might be interested as well.
