Biography

David Burbidge is a geophysicist specialising in seismic and tsunami hazard and risk assessment and tsunami forecasting. His work has included leading and conducting national, regional and local scale seismic and tsunami hazard and risk assessments in multiple countries including Australia and New Zealand. He also has a long standing interesting in real-time earthquake monitoring and tsunami forecasting. He has a BSc (Honours) in Physics and a PhD in Earth Sciences, both from the Australian National University. He currently leads the Tsunami Team at GNS Science.
