Oral presentations

Oral presentations will be 15 minutes long (12 minutes talk plus 3 minutes for questions). Talks in the plenary topic streams "Weaving Mātauranga Māori and Cultural Assessments" and "Bayesian Network Applications", which will follow our key notes, will be 20 minutes (15 minutes talk plus 5 minutes for questions). The IT system in the lecture theatres runs Windows 10 and is not set up to change to personal laptops easily. Please prepare your presentation as PowerPoint or PDF and bring it along on a USB stick on the day.

Poster presentations

The posters will be shown throughout the two days of the conference and will be close to the areas where refreshments and lunch will be served to allow for discussions around the posters during breaks. In addition, we have cocktail function with posters on the first day. The dimensions of the poster boards are 1.2m wide x 2.3m high so that all standard formats fit easily. Velcro strip to attach your poster to the boards will be available at registration.

Travel information

New Zealand is a popular travel destination and Wellington has been dubbed the coolest little capital. We very much hope that you can join us for the conference and extend your stay to include a holiday. There are many alternatives for accommodation within walking distance to our conference venue at Rutherford House including five star hotels, apartments, motels, backpackers and AirBnBs/Bookabaches. Rutherford House is next to the railway station and bus terminal, should you prefer to say outside the city.  We recommend you trial your preferred search engine sooner rather than later to find the most convenient option for you.

Participants from overseas will need to ensure that they have the appropriate visa. New Zealand has recently introduced an electronic travel authority (ETA) for those travellers who do not need a visa. More information on visa/ETA requirements can be found on New Zealand's Immigration website. If you require an invitation letter for your visa application please contact the local organising committee by email to risk-conf-2019 at gns.cri.nz. All visitors to New Zealand need to meet standard entry requirements, including being of good health and character, having evidence of outward travel to a country they have right of entry to and sufficient funds to support their stay in New Zealand.

If you are transiting via other country on your way to New Zealand, including Australia, please check the relevant visa/ETA requirements for that country, including any requirements for transiting between flights.

In the meantime, we can recommend the following websites to whet your appetite to join us in Wellington in November 2019:

Enjoy!
