Dr Kyle Bland has professional expertise in sedimentary geology, paleoenvironmental analysis, geological mapping, and the paleogeographic evolution of the New Zealand region, with particular experience in the geology of eastern North Island and Taranaki-Whanganui regions. Kyle presently leads GNSs Integrated Coastal Dynamics research project, and has extensive experience leading large SSIF, contestable, and commercially-funded projects for local, international, and Government clients. He is also a current co-compiler of new urban geological and geomorphological maps within the Auckland region.
Kyle is an active proponent, participant, and leader of outreach activities targeting a wide sector of the general public particularly school children and their teachers, and iwi in the Northland, eastern North Island, and Taranaki regions, including via the award-winning GeoCamp initiative.
