Earth sciences students were introduced to GNS this month with a shortcourse packed full of cotnent.

The 3-day course is designed to showcase a variety of tools and techniques available to use in geology and how they can be applied to reconstruct environment and climate, and to determine environmental change.

The annual Quaternary Techniques (QT) Shortcourse saw students from University of Otago, The University of Auckland, Victoria University of Wellington and Massey University attend in-person and online.

The QT Shortcourse started in 2005 by Kevin Faure and others, is now run by Joe Prebble, Georgia Grant, Dan Lowry and Claire Shepherd. The organisers say it is a great opportunity to continue contact and collaboration with lecturers and supervisors from around New Zealand and keep students connected with GNS Science. It is sponsored by the Global Change through Time SSIF Programme.
