Karen BrittenVolcano Geochemistry Technician
Biography
Karen is a senior geochemistry technician in the volcanology team. Her background has been working as an analyst in the NZGAL at Wairakei and has now moved to a role managing the GeoNet chemistry sampling program in volcanic and geothermal areas and the airborne gas flux program on NZ volcanoes. Specialist skills have been developed in areas of volcano and geothermal gas and water sampling, gas airborne flux measurements and soil CO2/H2S flux surveys. She has also picked up experience in the H&S requirements of a variety of different types of fieldwork
