We offer a concentrated one day transect through an uplifted oblique subduction margin that has a working petroleum system, from Jurassic basement rocks through to Pleistocene deepwater mass flow limestones. On this one day trip from Wellington, we drive across the inner forearc, crossing major strike-slip faults, outcrops of black shale and Monterey Formation analogue hydrocarbon source rocks and both clastic and fractured reservoir analogues.
