East Coast Region field trip photo

The East Coast region offers an amazing transect through an uplifted oblique subduction margin that has a working petroleum system, from basement rocks through to Pleistocene deep water sedimentary rocks and oil seeps. The tectonic development of the region is discussed in relation to source rock and reservoir facies development. This one to five day trip will use outcrops, regional maps and accompanying case studies to explore the interaction between tectonics, clastic deposition, and hydrocarbon reservoirs and trapping.
