Geocamp participant discovers trace fossils

Discover Hidden Worlds 2016 – Explore Northland geology coastal environments with GNS Scientists!

What is it? An exciting two week long field based science course for years 7 – 9 students and their teachers who wish to discover and communicate fascinating secrets hidden within the rocks of Northland. 

Where is it? Based at REAP in Kaitaia, this discovery experience will include outdoor explorations off the beaten track to geological sites and along the rocky coasts of Northland.

Who is it for? Schools are invited to nominate between 4 and 6 students and one teacher. A contribution will be made to cover school teacher relieving costs. Priority is given to Decile 1 – 5 schools.

Spaces are strictly limited to a maximum of 25 students in years 7-9 (2016) and 10 teachers /educators.

Dates: 9th to 23rd May 2016.
