Specialist in geological mapping, particularly of complexly deformed and metamorphosed basement terranes including Archean rocks in Western Australia, Proterozoic rocks in Australia's Northern Territory, Paleozoic rocks in western Tasmania, Antarctica, and New Zealand's West Coast-NW Nelson, and Mesozoic rocks in central New Zealand. Led the QMAP 1:250 000 Geological Map of New Zealand programme to its conclusion in 2010 and currently leader of GNS's Geological Map of New Zealand core programme. Specialist in geological map data management and dissemination using GIS software and web services, as well as GIS analysis leading to predictive modelling applications in geological hazards and mineral prospectivity.
