Joint Geological and Geophysical Societies Conference, 2009

In November this year, the New Zealand Geophysical Society and the Geological Society of New Zealand, will be holding a joint conference in Oamaru showcasing the latest in New Zealand geoscience research and practice.

The meeting will be held at the recently refurbished Oamaru Opera House. The conference begins with an icebreaker on the evening of Monday 23rd November and concludes on the afternoon of Friday 27th November 2009. Participants are encouraged to attend mid-conference fieldtrips on Wednesday 25th November, and pre- and post-conference fieldtrips will also be offered.

Conference registration and an icebreaker function will commence at 5:00pm on Monday 23rd November in the main foyer of the Opera House. Registration reopens at 7:45am on the morning of Tuesday 24th November in the Opera House foyer, with a formal welcome and opening ceremony beginning at 8:30am in the Main Auditorium. An Information desk will be staffed during coffee and lunch breaks throughout the conference.
