AMS-12 Presentations
Oral Presentations
Length of Sessions
All oral presentations are 15 minutes long with 5 minutes’ question time. The exception is for the two keynote presentations on Monday morning and the summary talk on Friday afternoon, which are 30 minutes long plus 15 minutes' question time. Please keep track of time as the success of the programme depends on speakers keeping to their time allocation.
AV Information for Speakers
All laptops supplied for the conference by our AV suppliers will run the full Microsoft Office 2007 Suite of programs including PowerPoint. PowerPoint 2007 is backwardly compatible with 2003, hence presentations created using PowerPoint 2003 will in almost all cases work flawlessly. These laptops are also kept up to date with the latest video and audio codecs to ensure maximum compatibility.
If a presentation has been created using a Mac version of PowerPoint it should play without any difficulties, however it will always be best to test the presentation on a PC. Also worth noting is that PowerPoint running on a Windows based machine (such as those supplied by our AV suppliers) will not be able to play embedded QuickTime (proprietary Mac video format) files, even if the presentation was created on a Mac.
Our conference laptops come loaded with an Adobe Acrobat Viewer so that displaying PDF files is accommodated. Should your presentation have been created using any other software, please let us know in advance so that can arrange to test your presentation prior to the conference .
Poster Presentations
Poster presentations will take place in Oceania, level 3 at Te Papa.
The available space for each poster is 1.11 m wide by 1.77 m high (i.e. portrait orientation). Velcro stickers will be provided to attach your posters to the panels. The first session posters may be installed Sunday 20 March at the Icebreaker and should be in place by Monday 21 March. This poster session is planned for Tuesday after lunch.
